
John Schladweiler has more than 35 years experience in the information systems industry. With a blend of vendor, client and consulting experience he brings significant breadth and depth to his role as project leader. As co-founder of debis IT Services North America (U.S. subsidiary of the $3 billion debis Systemhaus in Europe), in three years he built an application hosting and computer networking business including consulting services with revenues of $26 million. As Senior Vice President of the Realtors Information Network, John led the development of an Internet site, which received a Computerworld Smithsonian Award for Innovation and is currently receiving over 80 million hits per month. Prior to that John served as SVP, Business and Strategy Development for Comdisco Disaster Recovery Services, Chief Technology Officer for Strategic Planning Associates, an international management consulting firm, and VP of Systems Planning for Harris Bank. Earlier he spent seventeen years with IBM in a number of product management, sales and systems support roles.
John's recent engagements include:
- Provided technology leadership to 100+ year-old futures exchange establishing plans for electronic trading. Engagement included assessment of software vendors, selection of hosting vendors, contract negotiation support and implementation planning.
- Served as acting Chief Technology Officer for insurance industry ASP (application services provider) that provides electronic document presentment and electronic bill presentment and payment. Role involved architecture and service delivery definition and costing, and service marketing strategy.
- Assessed technology readiness of global electronic retailer ASP which provides net settlement of customs duties and shipment transactions. Scope included assessment of software, support structures and operations - domestically and internationally.
- For a leading US-based multi-channel voice/data and interactive voice response software company, identified European market entry strategies and interviewed and assessed potential distribution partners.
- For $40 million private manufacturing company, developed a systems vision including defining an e-Business approach and integration of MRP systems into the e-Business architecture. The opportunity that was identified for incremental annual savings/revenues exceeded $10 million.
- For $12 billion heavy truck manufacturer, assessed dealership systems support. Defined an architecture for e-Business using an extranet to integrate dealer systems with manufacturer systems. Identified an innovative way to self-fund migration to new platform.
John has a BA from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
